Honoring our ancestors on the Day of the Dead!
At B + F, we join the wonderful tradition of the Day of the Dead, a celebration deeply rooted in the rich history of our country. This holiday is much more than sugar skulls and colorful altars; It is an opportunity to remember and celebrate the lives of those who came before us, and to reflect on the relationship we have with our environment.
Did you know that in pre-Hispanic times, the cult of death was a fundamental element of our culture? When someone left this world, they were buried wrapped in a mat, and their loved ones organized a party to guide their loved one on their journey to Mictlán. They placed their favorite food on the altar, believing that the deceased might feel hungry on their journey.
The Day of the Dead, from the indigenous perspective, implies the temporary return of the souls of the deceased. These souls return home, to the world of the living, to live with their families and to nourish themselves with the essence of the food offered to them on the altars that are prepared in their honor.
At B + F, we share the vision that the relationship with nature and respect for the environment are essential. This celebration reminds us of the importance of honoring our loved ones, but also makes us reflect on the need to take care of our planet for future generations. As a comprehensive environmental services firm, we work tirelessly to preserve and improve the world we share with those who have passed, and with those yet to come.
On this Day of the Dead, we invite you to join us in reflection and respect for life, death and nature. Let us remember our loved ones with love and gratitude, and let us commit to protecting the legacy we leave for future generations.
