{"id":5830,"date":"2023-11-09T16:27:58","date_gmt":"2023-11-09T22:27:58","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/bmasf.mx\/do-you-know-what-obligations-to-comply-with-regarding-hazardous-waste\/"},"modified":"2023-11-09T16:27:58","modified_gmt":"2023-11-09T22:27:58","slug":"do-you-know-what-obligations-to-comply-with-regarding-hazardous-waste","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/bmasf.mx\/en\/do-you-know-what-obligations-to-comply-with-regarding-hazardous-waste\/","title":{"rendered":"Do you know what obligations to comply with regarding hazardous waste?"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>By:<\/strong> Francisco Javier Monsiv\u00e1is Rod\u00f3n<\/p>\n<hr width=\"40%\">\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Conforme a lo establecido en el art\u00edculo 5 fracci\u00f3n XXXII de la Ley General para la Prevenci\u00f3n y Gesti\u00f3n Integral de los Residuos (In accordance with the provisions of article 5, section XXXII of the General Law for the Prevention and Comprehensive Management of Waste (<strong>LGPGIR<\/strong>), hazardous waste is defined as <em>\u201cthose that have any of the characteristics of corrosivity, reactivity, explosiveness, toxicity, flammability , or that contain infectious agents that make them dangerous (<strong>CRETIB<\/strong>), as well as containers, containers, packaging and soil that have been contaminated when transferred to another site, in accordance with what is established in this Law.<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>It is included within the 5 lists established within NOM-052-SEMARNAT- 2005, within which the following stand out, among others:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>The generation of sludge in different activities such as metal finishing and electroplating, oil, gas and petrochemicals, wastewater treatment, among others;<\/li>\n<li>Spent and\/or acid-soluble oils;<\/li>\n<li>Materials impregnated with hydrocarbons, oils, fats, pigments, among others;<\/li>\n<li>Discarded zinc-silver oxide batteries;<\/li>\n<li>Catalysts spent in production activities;<\/li>\n<li>Waste from the use of explosives;<\/li>\n<li>Waste from hydrocarbon activities, chemical, petrochemical, steel, mining, among others;<\/li>\n<li>Waste from the handling of asbestos.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Therefore, when carrying out activities related to the generation, management, treatment and\/or final disposal of hazardous waste, compliance with the obligations imposed by the <strong>LGPGIR<\/strong>, its regulations (<strong>RLGPGIR<\/strong>) and official mexican standards must be observed and guaranteed. Among which the following stand out:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Identify the category in which you are a generator of hazardous waste (Micro, Small or Large Generator);<\/li>\n<li>Register as a generator of hazardous waste with the Ministry of Environment and Natural Resources (<strong>SEMARNAT<\/strong>) or with the National Agency for Safety, Energy and Environment (<strong>ASEA<\/strong>) (in the case of activities in the hydrocarbon sector);<\/li>\n<li>Design and build storage areas in accordance with the basic conditions established in the <strong>RLGPGIR<\/strong>;<\/li>\n<li>Register the hazardous waste management plan with <strong>SEMARNAT<\/strong> or <strong>ASEA<\/strong> (in the case of a large generator);<\/li>\n<li>Submit the Annual Operation Certificate (<strong>COA<\/strong>) annually to <strong>SEMARNAT<\/strong> or <strong>ASEA<\/strong>;<\/li>\n<li>In case of carrying out any type of hazardous waste management, have the respective authorization (incineration, recycling or co-processing activities, reuse, transportation, collection, treatment, deep injection and\/or final disposal);<\/li>\n<li>Maintain the logs and\/or disposal manifests of hazardous waste delivered to third parties authorized by the Authorities in the matter; among other.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>At <strong>B + F<\/strong> we know the importance of compliance with obligations regarding hazardous waste for the development of projects that create environmental, economic and social value.<\/p>\n<p>Through a comprehensive diagnosis carried out on our clients and allies, we observe compliance with the obligations identified based on their needs and as a consequence of the exercise carried out, the imposition of sanctions in the matter is prevented.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>By: Francisco Javier Monsiv\u00e1is Rod\u00f3n &nbsp; Conforme a lo establecido en el art\u00edculo 5 fracci\u00f3n XXXII de la Ley General para la Prevenci\u00f3n y Gesti\u00f3n Integral de los Residuos (In accordance with the provisions of article 5, section XXXII of the General Law for the&#8230;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":3,"featured_media":5388,"comment_status":"closed","ping_status":"closed","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"_jetpack_memberships_contains_paid_content":false,"footnotes":""},"categories":[9],"tags":[],"class_list":["post-5830","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-blog"],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v27.2 - https:\/\/yoast.com\/product\/yoast-seo-wordpress\/ -->\n<title>Do you know what obligations to comply with regarding hazardous waste?
